Region Builder

Build the region list for your MeshCore repeater. Find your repeater on the map and tap its dot — you'll get the exact region commands to paste into it. (Not on the map yet, or it's a brand-new node? Tap “Drop a pin” and place it where your repeater is.) Want to see how the areas nest? Tap a region on the map or in the list to explore, broad › specific.

The map opens on the Pacific Northwest (WA / ID / OR). Tap a region to color it and reveal the areas inside it; keep tapping to drill down to your county or town. Regions here mirror the live network and refresh every few minutes. Once you've applied the config to your repeater, tap its dot and mark it done — that turns it green so the group can see what's left.
tap your repeater's dot on the map — on a phone, zoom right in, the dots grow as you zoom, so they're far easier to hit. Not on the map? Use the pin button, then tap the map where your repeater is.

Applying this to your repeater

Tap your repeater's dot on the map (or drop a pin at its location) and hit Copy commands — then follow the steps for whichever software your repeater runs.

What is your repeater running?

Region tags tell your repeater which areas' flood traffic to carry. Pick the tab matching your firmware in the panel on the right, then:

  1. Log in as admin. Find the repeater in your MeshCore client's contacts and log in with its admin password. New to this? The MeshCore Newbie Guide covers connecting to a repeater and opening its console.
  2. Open its console (CLI).
  3. Send the lines one at a time — wait for OK after each. Each line has its own Copy button. Paste, send, wait for the reply, then do the next one.
No OK likely means the repeater never got that line. Send the same line again — re-sending is always harmless. Don't carry on without it: each region is created inside the one above it, so a lost line makes later lines fail with an error pointing at the wrong place. Over several hops a reply can take a few seconds, so give it a moment.
Send them individually — many phone CLIs mash a multi-line paste into one line.
  4. Check it saved. The last line, region save, writes everything to flash — give it a minute, then open Manage Regions in your client. Every region from the panel should be listed. If one is missing, send that line again followed by region save, and re-check.

Unsure about anything? Ask in the group before you push.

Example — what the commands look like
Firmware 1.16+ (one line):
region def west pnw wa e-wa|pnw inw|pnw geg|e-wa spokane-co
region home spokane-co
region save
Firmware 1.15 (region put — flood on by default):
region put west *
region put pnw west
region put wa pnw
region put e-wa wa
region put spokane-co e-wa
region home spokane-co
region save
Firmware 1.14 (add region allowf <name> after each put):
region put west *
region allowf west
region put pnw west
region allowf pnw
… (put + allowf for each region, in order) …
region put spokane-co e-wa
region allowf spokane-co
region home spokane-co
region save
